Vodakva operates 88 sewage treatment plants, most of them are mechanical-biological, one is mechanical. About 95% of inhabitants in the area of operation are connected to a sewer system finished by a central Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), i.e. about 180 thousand inhabitants. Sewage treatment plants are progressively automated, intensively reconstructed and modernized in order to meet strict limits of outlet water pollution. Large sewer systems with a central STP have been built thanks to the municipalities´ solidarity within the Water Management Association.
